A Message from Our Principal

February is here!

We have a number of priorities at Country Place Leadership Academy! Student safety, student leadership, and academic success! Student (and community) safety is our biggest priority. We are going to be making a couple of changes during February to improve the safety of our students.

In the morning, we welcome our parents to escort their students on campus after signing in through the office. We are now asking that parents and guardians exit through the office and sign out. The purpose of this change is to ensure that we know who is on campus in the event of an emergency. Additionally, when one of the other exterior doors is open without a staff member present (like we have in the morning), an unwelcome person could enter campus without our knowledge and create a safety issue. This has occurred at other schools in our area.

For our kinder parents at the end of the day, we are asking that if you enter the campus through the kindergarten playground and you need an older student, please exit through the playground and enter the front office. Please do not enter campus and go to a student’s classroom to retrieve them. This creates a safety issue because the teacher (it could be a substitute) is not in a position to check ID and release the student.

Please remember that we will not release students between 2:00 and 2:25 p.m. except in emergencies. This is one of the most important times of the day for student safety. Our staff works tirelessly to ensure that all 1,000 of our students get home as safely as possible. Pulling students at the end of the day creates chances for safety mistakes. Thanks for helping us keep your students safe.
